These meditations of birds of Los Angeles are made entirely of postage stamps, a material that enables us to cross borders and connect with each other. I am often mesmerized by their colors and stature. The parrots of South LA, the pigeons of Beverly Hills, the goldfinches of Boyle Heights—they are ambassadors for all of us, impervious to the distinctions of neighborhoods. I celebrate the freedom of their habitation in our vast and diverse metropolis.
