Net: Chromogenic Prints

Artist Statement

A net divides a space into two. However, little holes on the net belong to both sides, while at the same time do not belong to both sides. As an immigrant from Taiwan to the United States, I constantly feel that I belong to both countries, and at the same time do not belong to both countries. This Net project explores my feelings in regard to the struggle of living in two countries, two cultures, two religions, and with two languages.

Yi-hui Huang is Associate Professor of Digital Media Technologies at East Stroudsburg University, Pennsylvania.
